Bruins: 2017 Prospect Challenge Roster Announcement

With the start of a new season fast approaching, the Boston Bruins announced the roster set to participate at this year’s “Prospect Challenge”, which happens before the start of training camp. 

The event will be held Sept. 8-11 at Harbor Center in Buffalo, New York. This marks the third consecutive year the Bruins have participated in the challenge. The Bruins defeated the New Jersey Devils (4-3) and Buffalo Sabres (4-3) last year.

This time around, the Bruins rookies will compete against the Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins and Devils youngsters in the round-robin challenge featuring prospects from each team. The participating teams will each play three games during the course of the event. 

The forwards invited are: Anders Bjork, Shawn Boudrias*, Jake DeBrusk, Ryan Fitzgerald, Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, Jesse Gabrielle, Alex Gacek*, James Hamblin*, Danton Heinen, Justin Hickman, Joona Koppanen, Sean Kuraly, Cedric Pare, Zach Senyshyn and Oskar Steen

The defensemen invited are: Victor Berglund, Connor Clifton*, Matt Grzelcyk, Owen Headrick*, Emil Johansson, Jeremy Lauzon, Charlie McAvoy, Rob O’Gara, Ethan Sakowich* and Jakub Zboril

The goaltenders invited are: Kyle Keyser* and Luke Richardson*

*Denotes player attending rookie camp on an invite basis as per Bruins media.

The Bruins will play on the following dates:

Thursday, Sept. 7: Rookie camp opens

Friday, Sept. 8: vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, 3:30 p.m. ET

Saturday, Sept. 9: vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7:00 p.m. ET

Monday, Sept. 11: Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils, 12:00 p.m. ET
