Northeastern held off a late Vermont charge en route to a 71-67 win on Saturday.
A 13-4 Catamounts run that spanned 6:13 erased what was a 10-point Huskies lead, and sliced it to one, 66-65 with 2:12 remaining.
However, Shawn Occeus would erase the bleeding for Northeastern with a triple to push its advantage to 69-65.
Vermont would cut it to two courtesy of a pair of free throws from Anthony Lamb, but was unable to get what would have been the game-tying layup to fall, and two Vasa Pusica free throws sealed the Northeastern win.
The Huskies forced the Catamounts in 13 turnovers.
Donnell Gresham Jr. paced Northeastern, which improved to 5-0 at home, with 17 points and Occeus chipped in 16.
The Huskies are off until Monday, Dec. 18 when it visits Kent State (5-5) at 7 p.m.
