Down 51-46 with 10:51 remaining, UMass used an 11-1 run to go up and never looked back en route to a 72-63 victory over Providence.
With 5:23 left, C.J. Anderson’s layup pushed UMass in front 59-52 as it led by as much as 11 in the final minute of play en route to victory.
The Minutemen, who shot 56.3 percent from the field, were led by 30 points from Luwane Pipkins.
UMass is back in action next Saturday against Georgia (7-1) at home at 3 p.m.
